White Scar Project Part 2- The Rhino & Assault Marines

Sorry to disappoint all of you who were thinking that the Rhino is gonna look all white. Well that would be boring wouldn't it?
The White Scar logo is done free hand coz I hadn't mastered the Decal transfer part yet.
Mr. Jeff Brooks was very helpful on the advice on the Decal transfer and his video on Decal transfers on Youtube was awesome. Thanks Jeff.
Now I gotta get back to the Bikes.....more hobby fun!!!

The White Scar project- Part 1

I got 2 boxes of Ravenwing Battleforce from Alvin and 1 SM Battle force from S'pore PI and soon started working on the bikes. Man, painting white is so tiresome and dirty.

As you can see, I have all accessories needed for the project.

From bottom left, clockwise.... Paints, ashtray, 'Mukukku' in a jar, sand in the dice box, crumpled disposeble glove, laptop(charger) with Metallica...full blast, all time favorite Bugs Bunny water cup, paint brush, and smack in the center are the bikes. You can see the progress from the top, Assembled bikes, Spray painted bikes and the ones with Chaos Black painted on them.

The long awaited book has arrived.

There it is gentlemen, the DE codex taking a well deserved rest on my table after I was through with it. For those of you that have not read it yet.....man, there are many new characters, unit choices, upgrades etc. My Archon is never gonna leave Commorragh without his Huskblade or Soul-trap.
Asdrubael Vect is on foot now and much tougher and he can choose if he wants to ride the 'Dias of Destruction', a modified Raider.
Lelith is given so much importance, too.
All in all, a well deserved wait for all us DE players.

Skaven Lord from Island of Blood

The first model from Island of blood is complete and trust me there are alots more in the box.
I still need battleforce and some warmachines before I start gaming with them, and of course, I need to finish painting them first!This may take a while (trust me there are alot of them) and hopefully I can game with them by the beginning of next year.
I will be adding a Doomwheel and some othere stuff too.

Rats everywhere!

Recently I have aquired 2 sets of Skaven from the IOB boxed set and there are alot of rats, man. This means I will be really occupied during my tour this time and when I get back I will be buying more to make it up for 3000pts.

Finally, it is complete.
With parts from Deffkopta, DE Raider and many Orkish components....here it is.
The Ork 'Chinork'. It is a bit smaller that the original model from Forgeworld, but they are Orks.
No two vehicles will look alike. I have mounted 3 Big shootas and twin-linked Rokkit launcha.

My apologies for not blogging for almost 3 months. As you all know, I am stuck in Taiwan and have not been in touch with my hobby, lately. I will soon post some photo's of Orks which I have started painting.

New armies

I am quite surprised that I have actually started, not one but two new table-top armies.
One, is the long awaited Flames of War army. The British Punjabi Rifle Platoon is in it's final stages of painting. Unfortunately, I don't know the rules for the FOW yet.
My second army is Battle Fleet Gothic and I have chosen Dark Eldar pirates to terrorize the universe. I have scratch-built 4 Torture class Cruiser and have ordered 12 Escorts, which I hope to see soon. My battle brother, Khairul, the farseer, was kind enough to teach some of us newbies, the rules of this game.

Itching for a Fantasy game?

Calling all those Fantasy players, old and new, to bring their armies on the 15th Jan and 22nd Jan to Legio. I will be bringing my army and we definitely can have a game or two. For all those newbies to Fantasy, may this be a Demo game for you all to watch.
I will also give some tips and teach the rules during the game. So if you have any models lying around please bring them along.
These models need not be painted if you have not done so but atleast assemble them.
Proxy can be used for begginers.
Normal Fantasy game is 2000 points. But just let me know how many points you have and I will accomodate accordingly.
Jeff, Iz and Peter are also ardent Fantasy players, who I am sure are willing to teach a thing or two.

Brothers in arms,
I started wargaming in the year 2004....yup Fantasy. It just happened that I was scratch building a mini bar in my gf's house(now wife) and I needed something to decorate the bar. At that time LOTR was big and I wanted to have to miniature Frodo and gang on top of bar. So, I was hunting for some nice LOTR minis, when I ended up in Wolf's place. His brother Bryan was there and I saw a nice box of Fellowship of the Ring minis.....just the thing that I wanted....WOW! So I enquired the price and this is what he asked 'Do you game?'
Me:Huh? *Blur*...
Bryan:You know, do you paint them and play with them?
Me:Paint? Play? What d'ya mean?

And with that question a new wonderful hobby was introduced to me....
Ogre Kingdom was my first army...and used to play regularly with none other than Izkazri. There were other guys, Bryan(Skaven), Uncle Pete(High Elves), Prabha(High Elves)
Wang(Wood Elves), Rajan(Empire, Tomb Kings)etc etc.
Then I bought a second hand Dark Eldar from Wolf(intro 40K)about end 2006.....from then on, my hobby just grew.Painting, modelling, conversions and terrain building. I have to say there are some thing that I became very good at and somethings that needs improvement.

Sometime in the begining of 2008 I saw a post from Jeff Brooks on Wolf's Website, suggesting for a gamers get together and my arse just blew up.
This is it! This is what all of us gamers were looking for... 'A Cool Hobby Club' and Jeff was kind enough to let us use the factory for this. It was my first hobby club and it is definitely the coolest. I knew, my friend, Iz, will be there.
Met some really cool guys there, too. Azlan,Khairul,Arzmi,Peter C,Kadir,Shazli,Alvin, Md.Faizal,Iqbal....is just to name a few.

Come June 2008... SPORE! My first time, going overseas for a tourney.....my arse blew up for the second time. Alot of new faces, new experience and alot of fun. Furthermore, I won the best painted army! Prize SGD50/-...hee hee hee.
2009 was uneventful for me, I had to juggle between work and play....and work over-ruled play all the time. But whatever the cost I always had Friday nights,Free.
2010 might be the same for me, I guess.
Before I go, I really have to say that my wife has been very understanding and supportive of my hobby, for that I am grateful to her.
